Region 26 is the only ALL-CANADIAN region of Sweet Adelines International, an organization of women who sing four part harmony, barbershop style. We are dedicated to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. We currently have 24 choruses in Western Canada, any one of which would be delighted to welcome you as a member!
Region 26 MISSION STATEMENT: Region 26 Sweet Adelines are dedicated to the continued pursuit of musical excellence encompassing opportunities for personal growth, recognition and the joy of singing harmony in the barbershop style.

Holly-Jean Kadonaga
Communications Coordinator
After many years singing in various musical groups, Holly-Jean joined Sweet Adelines in 1994 as a member of Alberta Gold Chorus. Since joining the barbershop gang, she has become baritone section leader, completed the DCP program, and is now Assistant Director of Alberta Gold. She is active in local, regional and International events, and has attended I.E.S. numerous times. She joined the RMT in 2004, and looks forward to serving the region for the upcoming year.contact Holly-Jean at
Mary Teed
Director Coordinator
Mary began singing with Sweet Adelines in 1979 with North Metro Chorus. Over the years, she has served in a variety of administrative and musical leadership roles with the organization. She has been a certified director since February, 2002. Mary is the former director of the Hearts of Harmony Chorus in Red Deer, a member of the Regional Education Faculty, and currently directs the 2006 and 2007 First Place Small (Div. A) Chorus in Region 26, Alberta Heartland. Mary is just completing her first year on the Regional Management Team.contact Mary at:
Carol Argue
Education Coordinator
Carol has been a member of Sweet Adelines for 21 years, having joined Burnaby (now Westcoast Harmony) Chorus in 1986. She quickly became involved in script writing, mc-ing and chorus administration. Carol eventually branched out into Regional administration, and has served on the RMT as Communications/Technology Coordinator, Team Coordinator and Education Coordinator. In 2006 Carol was acclaimed by Region 26 as the "Spirit of 26." Recently she became a dual member with Green Heart Chorus, and competed with both Westcoast and Green Heart in 2007.contact Carol at:
Judy McAlpine
Financial Coordinator
Judy first joined Sweet Adelines in 1971 as a member of Lions Gate Chorus. Since that time she has been a member of Peach Blossom Chorus in Penticton, and Green Heart Chorus, where she is currently a member. Judy has served all three choruses in a variety of jobs. Currently she is baritone section leader, music librarian and Financial Coordinator for Green Heart. After directing for many years, Judy is happy to be singing again, and quarteting with Emerald Coast. Regionally, Judy has been involved with six Regional Conventions as either CRC or CC. She is looking forward to a new adventure, serving on the Regional Management Team as Financial Coordinator.contact Judy at:
Leslie Mackay
Marketing Coordinator
Leslie joined Sweet Adelines in 1991 as a member of Gateway Chorus. There she learned the administrative and musical ropes of the organization. In 2003 she became a charter member of Alberta Heartland Chorus in Edmonton. Currently she is a dual member with Alberta Heartland and Hearts of Harmony Chorus in Red Deer. She has competed regionally with two quartets. Leslie will begin her second term term on the Regional Management Team in May, 2008.

Lynda Elliott
Team Coordinator
Lynda has been a member of Sweet Adelines since 1985. She has sung with Alberta Gold Show Chorus, Gateway Chorus, and Rhythm of the Rockies Chorus, not to mention her quartet, Ambrosia. Lynda has been on the RMT for almost five years, and has served as Communications-Technology Coordinator and Team Coordinator. Lynda says, "Being on the Regional Management Team comes with responsibility, but knowing that you are volunteering your time to help create exciting and educational experiences for Region 26 members makes it worthwhile. Also, working with such a dedicated, fun-loving and enthusiastic team is very satisfying and enjoyable."contact Lynda at:
Therese Antonini
Events CoordinatorTherese first joined Sweet Adelines in 1982 with the Regina Chorus in Region 26. Her travels have given her the opportunity to cross reigonal borders with the Assiniboine Show Chorus in Region 6, but Region 26 called her home, first to Westcoat Harmony and then back to her origins, in her home town of Regina, with her current chorus, Prairie Gold. Therese has been privileged to serve choruses in administrative and musical leadership roles, and is excited to be embarking on her first adventure with the Regional Management Team.

Joanne Johnson
Membership CoordinatorJoanne first joined Sweet Adelines as a member of Gateway Chorus in 1991, singing lead. She held various board positions during her time there, including Fund Raising Coordinator, Marketing Coordinator, and Secretary. She served three years as Gateway's President. Joanne is also a charter member of Alberta Heartland Chorus in St. Albert. In that chorus she has served as Booking Agent, Newsletter Editor and Marketing Coordinator. She currently serves as Alberta Heartland's Team Coordinator. Recently Joanne has served Sweet Adelines regionally as Bylaws and Rules Chair.
